The homeowner for this Atlanta, GA residence wanted to entirely remodel a 15,000 square foot older residence and to automate everything because of the size of the home.
Key features that Willett designed and implemented include:
This was not a new home but the homeowner wanted a complete audio and video distribution system throughout the entire home. Willett retrofitted the wires through existing walls necessary to install 24 rooms of whole house audio and 16 rooms of distributed video. The home automation system is controlled by 15 wired touch panels, 4 wireless touch panels and 10 hand held remote controls.
Managing the energy bill of a large home can be problem. This home now has a control system that manages 96 lighting loads and 6 heating and air conditioners, allowing the family to control and manage their energy consumption.
Because each family member liked to listen and watch different music and programs, the automation system allows every one to sign on to the system and select just their favorite audio and video sources to simplify their use of the system.
The homeowner requested a home theater design which would blend in with the décor of the terrace level. After working with the interior designer, homeowner, and builder, we designed a room that matches the theme of the terrace level but is still extremely functional and would meet even the most demanding tests for quality. Upon walking into the room only the screen is visible. Every speaker including the subwoofers is hidden either behind acoustic panels or the front screen.
The family living in this beautiful Alpharetta, GA residence is very active and involved. Therefore, they desired a home automation system that would augment this lifestyle.
Willett designed and implemented a solution that included:
Because of the size of the home, the parents wanted to know when someone was arriving to pick up the children. A sensor trips whenever a car enters the driveway. Every one of the eight televisions then switches to display four security cameras focused on the outside driveway and garage. This allows the family, no matter where they are in the home, to quickly see when cars arrive in their driveway.
Getting children ready for school in the morning can be a difficult task sometimes. The homeowner wanted an easy way to wake the children up on school days. A single press of one button on the kitchen touch panel turns on all of the lights from the kitchen to the hallway to the two upstairs bedrooms and the bedroom lights themselves.
The homeowner has a spectacular outdoor covered family room complete with a fireplace. They spend a lot of time in this area during the spring and fall months and want to be able to enjoy their home entertainment system while in this area. We mounted a 50” LCD television over the fireplace and connected it to the whole house audio video system so they could enjoy their music and DVD collection as well as the satellite TV through the convenience of a single hand held remote control.
